RIDMA Launched for new funding programs for sports, creativity, children of prisoners and innovations. These four products were introduced during RIDMA Gala Night held at the Nedlands Yachet Club.

Sport Scholarship Program – Ahinsa

Ahinsa is sport grant scheme designed to support young athletes to overcome their financial hurdles. This program provides financial assistance for school children aged 12-18 participating in state, national or international championships in sports.

Arts and Creativity Scholarship – Athena

RIDMA will deliver grants and scholarships spanning multiple art-forms, in partnership with donors. The scholarships offer talented young artists chance to explore, study and develop their artistic gifts through receiving training, facilities and participating in completions and performing locally and internationally.

Children of Prisoners – Soteria

Soteria is designed to support children of prisoners.

Having a parent in prison can have an impact on a child’s mental health, social behaviour, and educational prospects. The emotional trauma that may occur and the practical difficulties of a disrupted family life can be compounded by the social stigma that children may face as a result of having a parent in prison or jail. Children who have an incarcerated parent may experience financial hardship that results from the loss of that parent’s income.

Eligibility:

Selection process:

  1. Reference from department of prison
  2. Existing organisation who already working with those children
  3. Personal Reference

Financial Support:

  1. Education support
  2. Financial support to poster parents.
  3. Financial support Vocational training

Science and Innovation Award – Yureka

Yureka is designed to provide financial support for big ideas of youth. RIDMA intends to support students from schools, universities and tertiary education institutions who want make their big dreams come true.

Eligibility:

  1. Successful project plan
  2. Budget report
  3. Reference from the school

Selection process:

  1. Evaluation of project plan
  2. Reference
  3. Interview

Financial Support:

  1. Training
  2. Equipment
  3. Participating in exhibitions
