Kohonawala, a remote village nestled in the heart of the Badulla District, where dedication knows no bounds! Meet Mr. Rampath Jayasena, a beacon of commitment as the Principal of Kohonawala School. Despite the challenges of an extremely rural location, Mr. Jayasena’s unwavering dedication has brought education closer to the 20 students of this village.

Picture this: every day, these 20 students embark on a long journey to school, braving the elements with their heavy school bags. Yet, their resilience knows no bounds, thanks to the guidance and support of Principal Jayasena.

But here’s where the magic truly happens! With the visionary leadership of Mr. Jayasena, the students now have access to the vast world of knowledge through the internet. It’s not just a school anymore; it’s a gateway to endless possibilities.

Yet, even in the face of progress, challenges persist. Despite the village being connected to the electricity grid, frequent breakdowns and supply issues plague Kohonawala, leading to long blackouts on most days.

RIDMA Foundation Inc., stepping in to illuminate the path forward! At the request of Mr. Rampath Jayasena, RIDMA has been called upon to provide a solution: 20 solar panels, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. With a total cost of LKR 161,730.00, these solar panels promise to not only brighten the village but also empower its residents with uninterrupted access to education.
