Water Project – Puttlam Dutugamunu Maha Vidyalaya

🌟 Bringing Clean Water to Puttlam Dutugamunu Maha Vidyalaya! 🌟

We are delighted to share a meaningful initiative recently completed by the RIDMA Foundation.

Following a request from Puttalam Dutugamunu Maha Vidyalaya, we undertook the establishment of a much-needed water filtration system for the school. With more than 300 students—and many families relying on agriculture and daily labour—the lack of safe drinking water had been a long-standing challenge. The school previously purchased water transported from “Kala Oya,” which was unfortunately not suitable for drinking and contributed to increased kidney-related illness in the community.

In partnership with Nimsahana Sansandaya, Athurugiriya, RIDMA Foundation successfully installed a new water filtration plant, giving students and staff reliable access to clean, safe drinking water.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Prasad Kumarasinghe and Dr. Priyanthi Kumarasinghe, whose generous support fully funded this vital project. Your compassion and commitment have created a lasting positive impact on the school and the broader community.
